I] WHAT THE PATCH FIXES
=======================================================================

This patch fixes the Basic Raster Error that may occur when starting the 
program. It is a good idea to backup your Print Artist files before applying 
this patch.

This patch, Print Artist 4.02 Raster Fix, is applicable to Print Artist 4.0,
4.01 and Print Artist 4.02 regardless of whether or not you've run the pa3to4 
conversion utility.


II] HOW TO INSTALL THE PATCH
=======================================================================

To install the patch:

IF YOU DOWNLOADED THE PATCH:
PARASTER.EXE is a self-extracting executable. You should need only to run the executable and
follow the on-screen prompts.

-Copy PARASTER.EXE to your hard drive
-Locate the file, and double click on PARASTER.EXE
-Follow the on-screen prompts.

The Readme file will pop up at the end of the procedure. This usually indicates that the 
patch was successfuly installed. If you experience problems, you may install the patch
manually:

-Copy PARASTER.EXE to your hard drive
-Locate the file, and double click on PARASTER.EXE
-On the second screen of the installation, enter the path to your TEMP direcory 
 (Example: C:\WINDOWS\TEMP)
-Using File Manager, or Windows Explorer, copy the file PRTARTST.EXE from C:\WINDOWS\TEMP 
 into the program directory on your hard drive (C:\SIERRA\PRTARTST). 
-You will be asked if you want to replace the existing file. Choose Yes. 

IF YOU RECEIVED THE PATCH ON DISKETTE:
You will need to copy PRTARTST.EXE from the diskette into your application directory. If you are familiar with copying and pasting, this is the simplest way, if not follow these instructions to copy the file using MS DOS:

-Click on the MS DOS icon on the Start/Programs menu (Win95) or in the Main program group (Win 3.1).
-You will then be running a window to DOS with a C:\WINDOWS prompt.
-Type   CD\   and press <ENTER>
-Type   CD SIERRA\PRTARTST   and press <ENTER> (This assumes that you have installed to the default directory. If you have not, you will need to adjust the path.)
-With the diskette in the A: drive, type   COPY A:\*.*   and press <ENTER>. Five files will be copied on to your hard drive.
-Type   EXIT   and press <ENTER>. This will take you back into Windows. 


After the file is copied you should be able to run Print
Artist without further Basic Raster Errors.
