Aces of the Pacific - Patch B
			-----------------------------

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

The installation procedure for Aces Patch B requires that your hard drive
have about 3 megabytes (MB) of available disk space. Patch B itself will
only require about 20 kilobytes (K) more than the previous version.

If you are running Aces with disk-compression software such as Stacker (tm),
the installation procedure will require about 6 MB of available hard disk
space.

After applying Aces Patch B, the amount of available expanded memory (EMS)
necessary to run Aces will be 32K more than the 311,296 bytes listed in
the Technical Supplement. The program now requires 344,064 bytes of
available EMS memory.

INSTALLATION

1. Go to the drive and directory where you have downloaded the patch files.

2. Type 'UPDATE' followed by the drive on which you installed the original
Aces of the Pacific. For example, type:

		UPDATE C:

if you previously installed Aces of the Pacific to your C: drive. If you have
moved your Aces files to a directory other than \DYNAMIX\ACES, type the
new full directory path after the drive letter when you run install.
(IMPORTANT: Be sure to leave a space between the drive letter and the
directory path.) For example, type:

		UPDATE D: \GAMES\ACES

if you have moved Aces to the directory \GAMES\ACES on your D: drive.

3. Press [enter] to begin the install program, then follow the on-screen
instructions.

IMPORTANT: Use the installation program provided to install Aces Patch B
to your hard drive. Since the Aces Patch B files are compressed, copying
the files using the DOS COPY command will not work.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you encounter an error during installation (and are possibly returned
to the DOS prompt), try running the installation program again. If you
continue to encounter errors, you may need to re-install your original
Aces of the Pacific program and then re-install the patch.

RUNNING THE PROGRAM

Once Aces Patch B is installed, run the program by typing ACES, just like
with the original version. No additional commands are necessary.

For notes about program updates, refer to the README file within the
original Install program.
